My Approach

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and holistic. I recognize that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to accompany you on your journey toward healing and personal growth. I provide a warm and empathetic environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

In our work together, we will collaborate to set goals, explore your strengths, and develop coping strategies tailored to your unique needs. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and your feedback and insights are valued every step of the way.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a holistic approach that recognizes the profound connection between the mind and the body. It explores how our physical sensations, emotions, and thought patterns are interconnected. As a somatic therapist, I believe that healing can be achieved by addressing both the emotional and physical aspects of your experience.

I am trained in a variety of somatic techniques, including mindfulness, emotion focused therapy, and sensorimotor therapy. Together, we will work to help you become more attuned to your body’s signals and use them as a powerful tool for self-discovery and healing.

Grief Therapy

Grief is a natural response to loss, and it manifests in unique ways for each person. My specialization in grief therapy enables me to guide individuals through the complex journey of mourning and finding meaning in their experiences. Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a job, or a way of life, I am here to offer compassionate support.

In grief therapy, we will explore the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations associated with your grief. Together, we will create a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to express your feelings and find strategies to cope with the challenges of grief while honoring the memory of what has been lost.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a comprehensive therapeutic approach that is primarily designed to help individuals who struggle with emotional dysregulation, self-destructive behaviors, and difficulty in interpersonal relationships. DBT integrates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with mindfulness practices and dialectical philosophy. The core concept of DBT revolves around balancing opposing forces, such as acceptance and change, and fostering dialectical thinking, which encourages the recognition of conflicting viewpoints. In therapy, DBT aims to empower clients by equipping them with practical skills in four primary areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. By teaching individuals how to manage their emotions, navigate crises, and enhance interpersonal communication, DBT can be remarkably helpful in fostering emotional stability, reducing self-destructive behaviors, and improving overall quality of life for clients facing challenging mental health issues.
